Collectors Item. Retouching Desk in polished boxwood. All the masks
for plates up to 12 x 10" Mirror for daylight retouching.

With all the original kit including
3 tubes of medium, set square, Glass Paper Block, 3 pencil lead holders
with 5 tubes of spare leads in tubes marked L & C Hardmuth Austria 2 - 5
sizes. 1 brush, I tin of medium , 1 pen, bottle of photopaque, bottle of
chalk medium. Black cloth for daylight operation, Complete with key
to lock drower.
Measures when closed 14" x 14" x 3.5" .
Included with this is a book
"Retouching & Finishing for Photographers" dated 1930. Near mint
condition.

Offers are invited for this desk which
is a rare example of this era when retouching was a very hands on process
onto glass plates. (Circa 1880 )
It is rare that it has survived with all
the original kit. This was partly due to the fact that the drawer was
locked and only when I found a key to fit perfectly
did it reveal all th original accessiories
undisturbed
from when last used.
